Initial Thoughts On Climate Change

I have already been making an attempt to connect climate change to the physics curriculum by considering energy flows into and out of a system and relating it to a project we do with solar ovens. It also connects with what we learn about the electromagnetic spectrum and the the particle (photon) nature of light.

While most of my students seem to accept that climate change is real I think it is important to help them understand the science and the evidence. I also think it is important for me as an educator to understand how empowering people to understand how they can have an impact on our future is important so that we don't feel like passive agents in global events that are beyond our control.
