How to Use This Resource

To make the most out of this course and save your progress and essay responses, you will need to create a user account on Chesapeake Exploration.

Need help creating and enrolling in the course? Instructions can be found on the homepage in the section How to create an account in Chesapeake Exploration.

Navigating the Lessons

Below the description of each lesson, you will see one or more colorful links. Click on these links to explore the lesson content and participate in the activity. We suggest you complete the entire activity in one sitting so you don't lose any responses or discussions in which you participate. You will be able to retake and review the lessons after you complete them. This is so that you can revisit the course as a resource.

As a warning, when you revisit activities, your previous responses will not be visible to you, but as long as you hit "submit" at the end of your response (and you are logged into your Chesapeake Exploration account), it will be visible in the Lesson essays feedback section found near the top of the side Navigation panel on the NGSS homepage. The Lesson essays feedback section will not appear until after you submit your first essay.

Lesson Essay Feedback

One final note: Many of the activities in this course are set up as lessons, with buttons at the bottom of each page for you to navigate the content. The navigation is typically limited to forward and backward. If you want to go back a few pages, you can use the Lesson Navigation links on the right side of window (this is only the case when you are actually "in" a lesson).
