Encouraging Student Action

Student involvement will be the toughest part of the MWEE for my site. There are instances in which school groups can only stay for a short time at the museum. One idea that might work is to continue programming at their site. Many schools have outdoor classrooms that could be used. Also, in the Module 3 discussion, I mentioned collecting weather data at the museum to start a database. Students could collect weather data at their own school to compare data sets.

Austin this is an important point that you're calling out here - sustained activity is central to the MWEE. As a provider, you're in a special place where you can support certain elements of the MWEE - perhaps the outdoor field experience or the action. We've also seen providers be very involved in supporting MWEEs through hosting teacher PD to support the integration of outdoor field experiences and the MWEE approach.
